Who is Menkens V-Drives?

Don't Use Silicone

Simply smear white grease on all v-drive gaskets. A thin coat is adequate. The use of grease allows the cases to come off easily and gaskets will not get damaged. Put a tiny amount of grease on the gasket before reassembling the drive. Silicone is only necessary to fill in an imperfection (scratch or gouge) in the plate or case.
